Information for Students

When you study on campus at the NAFC Marine Centre you will be required to follow some Health & Safety rules in relation to COVID19, for your own safety and others.

  • Please download the Protect Scotland app into your smartphone before coming onto the campus.
  • You must wear a face mask or face covering in the common areas and corridors of all college buildings.
  • Observe 2 metres social distance.
  • Use hand sanitizer on entering the building and on entering rooms.
  • Wash hands often, with warm water and soap for a minimum of 20 seconds.
  • Bring tissues with you and remember to “Catch it, Bin it. Kill it”.
  • Stay at home if you or someone in your household has any symptoms of COVID19. Self-isolate and arrange for a test through this link. As soon as possible, let us know that you will be absent and why.
  • All students will take part in a COVID19 induction at the start of their first term, which will explain specific restrictions in place, connected to your study.

The Scottish Government has requested that all colleges ensure that students understand what the Scottish COVID19 regulations and guidance are. These may not be the same as other parts of the UK.

1)   Quarantine: Those who have visted or travelled from a country not exempt from quarantine requirements MUST complete a passenger locator form and self-isolate for 14 days. This is a legal requirement and it is essential that you comply. Police have special enforcement powers under the Health Protection (Coronavirus) (International Travel) (Scotland) Regulations 2020. Colleges are expected to treat non-compliance as a serious breach in terms of disciplinary procedures. Students traveling to and from Scotland should check the Scottish Government Website for the latest advice.

2)   The rules for meeting people inside and outside your home are subject to change. Please check the Scottish Government Website for the latest advice.
